Mother’s Day is this weekend! If, like me, you’ve left your plans to the last minute, read on! As we are all doing our best to shop local and support Butte businesses, here are some great local ideas for Mother’s Day.
- Take her to brunch. There are quite a few amazing restaurants that are providing a special brunch for mom this year. The Uptown Cafe, Montana Club, and Lydia’s are some of our favorites! Make sure to make reservations, as they will likely be pretty full!
- Jewelry is never a bad option for Mother’s Day. With great local jewelers like Keenan Jewelers, Butte Jewelers/Buffalo Gallery, and Riddle’s Jewelry, you can find something that will knock her socks off! May I suggest a necklace with the birthstones of her children, or a charm bracelet?
- Bring spring into her life with some flowers! You can work with the amazing florists in town to find something in your budget that Mom will love! Check out Butte Floral, Roxzan’s Floral Boutique, and Schalk’s Posie Patch.
- Mother’s Day isn’t complete without the treats! How about locally made candy? Mom will love tasty chocolate treats from Shepherd’s Candy or The Sweet Palace in Philipsburg.
- Not quite what you’re looking for? Try getting Mom something at one of our fantastic local gift shops! They focus on gifts that highlight the beauty of Butte and the surrounding area. Here are some of my favorites: Buttestuff, 5518 Designs, Butte Original Gifts, Butte Copper Co., and Beautiful Butte and Beyond.
Gifts are wonderful, but the best thing you can do for Mom is spend some time with her! Go for a drive, play a game, just sit and talk. I promise, it will be worthwhile! Memories of those days will last you a lifetime.
