So now that Yellowstone Park is open to vehicle traffic for the summer season, I just want to remind you to not be THAT person. You who I mean. THAT person who tries to get a selfie with a 2,500 pound buffalo bull and then wonders why he played basketball with your body. THAT person who feels it is okay to wander off the wooden boardwalks (put there so we can all safely enjoy the thermal features) so you can get a picture up close and personal of that one steaming hole full of boiling, acidic water and then wonder why authorities can’t find your body after it dissolves when you fell in. Or maybe THAT person that stops in the middle of the highway because you saw a chipmunk running up a tree and then wondering why traffic is backed up two miles behind you with everybody giving you the good ‘ol Butte salute as they finally are able to get past you. I understand that our national parks, particularly Yellowstone, are jam-packed with folks wanting to see this amazing wonder, but we can all exercise some common sense and enjoy ourselves and make it a better experience for all. So please, don’t be THAT person…..the ‘touron’. See you in Yellowstone!
