Okay, time for a rant! I was out visiting some people yesterday at the mall. I turned my head- and there it was: a full Christmas display! The sparkling lights, fake Christmas trees, and ornaments hanging from the ceiling made me feel a little sick. It can’t be here already! I’m not ready for the madness of shopping, the stress of finding the right gifts for everyone, and all the rest! Then I remembered: it’s still early NOVEMBER!
I’m sorry, I must have missed the memo that November 1st was the official start to the holiday season. We still have a month and a half before the Big Guy shows up!
Apparently, I fall into the second category. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Christmas season. But caroling, Christmas trees, and Davis family Christmas can wait! Don’t forget the order of events here, it goes: Halloween, Mama D’s birthday, Thanksgiving, AND THEN Christmas! November is for the bird, not the Claus.
So for all you super excited elves out there that can’t wait to turn on the icicle lights: please, for the love, give us some time to appreciate the pumpkins first!
