Our Characters
My o' my the on-air staff at your hometown stations is really something, so interesting in fact we gave them their own page. For decades our stations have been home to some of Butte radio's most memorable characters, we still have a few of them around and some new folks to introduce you to! Thank you for taking an interest not only in our radio stations, but also the great folks behind the microphone.

Paul Panisko

Paul is one of the funniest people I personally have ever met. Also very clever, and can always crack a joke about something. You can hear him on KBOW from 6am-10am, and he has some on air time on Kopper 94. He also does a bulk of the sports games that you hear on air, whether it be High School or College Football, Basketball, and all sorts of sports. His morning show is what many people wake up just to listen to, as he makes things fun and always entertaining. Make sure to always wake up right each weekday right at 6am, kick back and relax with a cup of coffee, and enjoy the morning. Never wake up on the wrong side of the bed again!
Jonnie Garcia

Jonnie got his start in the summer of 2005. Working weekend nights, he slowly got introduced into the broadcasting field, and now does a little bit here, and a little bit there. He can be heard on KBOW from 2-5pm. He is now also in charge of the website. (Besides sports, thats Paul's page. Mine are sooo much better) Hobbies include pumping iron at the gym, enjoying hours of non-stop gaming, and also banging on his drums when he has the chance.. And can't forget eating alot of food.
Dan Charon
Dan Charon has been around these parts for quite a while, although he did come from another planet. He traveled here from light years away, and somehow ended up on our Earth. Since he came here, he has learned the English language very quickly, and got a job here in Butte as a DJ. Once the host of partyline, he had to part ways for just a bit, but he is now back, better then ever. You can hear him on the radio waves from 10am-2pm on KBOW, and he has taken over Partyline once again. Many people are glad he is back, and so is our staff here at the Studios. He also can be heard on Kopper 94 from 5pm-midnight. Hopefully next time he tries to go back to his home planet, his UFO won't start up!
Fred Kenny
Fred Kenny or as he's known here at KBOW as Mr. Nighttime was actually born in the dark but it definetly wasn't last night. Fred first got on the air waves in 1956 as an amateur rado operator, his hobby which ultmately led to his interest in broadcasting which he got into first as the chief announcer for the Hofstra University FM station and after graduation at stations on Long Island and upstate NY. Family ties brought him out to Montana and he's been at KMON in Gt. Falls and KXLF radio here in Butte until settling down at KBOW since 1981 doing nighttime, then middays and back to nighttime since the mid '90s bringing scores and plenty of local games, Monday Night Football -the weirdest intros in radio to the sports talk show "Overtime" and of course great country music your way while mixing it up with the new tunes and the oldies with a memory of country hits that spans over 6 decades.
Kelly Sullivan
Kelly Sullivan is not the guy on the block anymore here at KBOW, but still makes a huge impact here at KBOW. He joins Paul Panisko occasionally during football games, and shares his vast knowledge of the game through the radio waves. He DJ's on KBOW Saturday nights and Sunday morning, so stay tuned while he plays you the best mix of country hits. When we need someone to sub in for us, we call Kelly. Let's just say he is our Jack of all Trades.
Austin Davis
Austin is the son of Ron Davis, who is Mr. Boss man around these parts. Austin DJ's on KBOW during the weekend, and fills in from time to time when he can. Due to him still being in High School, the weekday shifts are kind of out of the picture. But during the summer he does keep the grass cut and in line! He also takes over control on weekday nights on Kopper 94. So if you're up late, you know where to go for hits, and Austin Davis.
Mariah
Mariah is now the new kid on the block here at the station. You can hear her Saturday nights and Sunday nights when we don't have football or baseball. She is the first female radio announcer on KBOW that we have had since I have started working here. So it's nice to have a change of pace. She is currently going to Montana Tech as well. Make sure to tune in on the weekend in the evenings to hear her on air!

Ron Davis
Mr. Ron Davis, as I like to call him, has been working here for.. ever? Probably longer then I have been alive, and he is the owner of everything you hear and see here at the studios. You can listen to Ron's morning show on KOPR 94.1fm from 6am-9am. Can't forget that dang noise! Just shhhh and try to figure out what it is.

Scott "Scooter" Parini
Scott Parini, or the “Scooter,” has been with us since March 2004. Like some of the other announcers, scooter started out on the “overnight” shifts and eventually ended up with his own shows. Scott loves music both at work and outside of work, whether the hits of today or those of the classics or oldies genre are playing, he has a diverse taste in music which makes him unique not only as a person, but also as a radio announcer. Scooter now works as the Copy Writer here at the studios. But he still does the Kopper Lunch box at Noon taking your requests! Make sure to call in to get your request in for a chance at winning the daily prize!
Pat Kearney
Pat Kearney is a one of a kind kinda guy, if you will. He does the Central Football and Basketball games that you hear on KOPR 94.1fm. He does a great job, and I know alot of people who love to listen in to keep up to date with their community sports action for Butte Central. He does many other things here for the Butte Community. Too many to even list!
Shannon Sullivan
Shannon has been working here at our studios about as long as Paul has been working here. She started off by being a Copy Writer, which is the position that Mr. Scooooter man currently is entitled to. Now though, she does sales for the station, as well as DJ'n on KOPR from 1pm-5pm. Her show is jam packed with all of your favorite hits, and much much more, such as your Time Capsule, New Song of the Day, latest in entertainment news, and more. It's a great show to listen to, and you are bound to have a wonderful time listening. I know that I do. (Forgot to mention.. She is almost a ninja!)
