Now that Thanksgiving is over, we can talk about my favorite time of the year: Christmas!
First, let’s preface this by saying- it is not Happy Holidays. It’s Merry Christmas. And if Christmas is not the holiday you celebrate: wish me a happy Hanukkah or Kwanzaa. I won’t be offended. I will be thrilled that you thought of me at all. Political correctness may have a time and place: but not in my Christmas!
There’s something magical about Christmas time. It’s an intangible feeling in the air that makes people act kindly towards each other. The best way I can describe it is hope. It’s the reason my grandma and aunt watch Hallmark Christmas movies; and why kids are count down to Santa’s arrival. Hope for something positive. Imagine what we could do if that feeling of hope lived in our hearts year round. All I can say is embrace the magic! Enjoy every minute, and treasure the memories.
